Buying a baby stroller is a big challenge for most young parents. Some even compare it to buying a car;) Each manufacturer offers something different. One tempts with torsion foam wheels and an adjustable handle, other large, pumped wheels and the possibility of transferring the handle on both sides. There is a huge selection in stores, which makes it difficult for young parents to decide on one particular model of the pram. Therefore, before buying, be sure to read our advice and find out what you should consider:
1.WEIGHT By watching different models of prams, compare their weight. This is important, especially when you live in a block without a lift and you will have to carry a trolley every time you go down / up, and you have a lot of steps to overcome. The average weight of trolleys with gondola ranges from 10 to 25 kg, and with the baby inside and additional accessories will be even heavier! 2.GONDOLA It should be comfortable and spacious. This is very important especially for mothers who will use the gondola throughout the autumn-winter period. The child then has much more layers of clothing on him. Check if the booth is quiet, so that it does not wake the baby sleeping while walking. A big advantage is the ventilation mesh or window installed in the gondola booth. In spring and summer it is a very useful function, because it is an additional supply of fresh air for a sheltered baby. Good advice: Be sure to measure the width of the elevator, the front door and the boot in the car, to choose a stroller that fits easily. 3.TROLLEY Plastic is lightweight, but more practical is styrofoam or wooden, because they provide much better insulation from the cold. The bottom should be even and stable. The big advantage is the possibility of adjustment. Some models of prams have a special ventilation system, so that the bottom of the cart breathes, providing fresh air, but the toddler is not cold. 4.drubbing Find out what material the gondola upholstery is made of, whether it has sunscreens, it is waterproof, and if it can be removed and washed, then reinstall it without any major problems. Check that it is properly fastened and carefully sewn. 5.HANDLE My husband often intended to walk with his son, so choosing a stroller, we were looking for one with an adjustable handle. Thanks to this, everyone could easily adjust the height of the handle to their height - a great convenience. The handle should be made of a material that does not react to significant temperature differences. Perfectly suited leather or padded with foam. 6.WHEELS The choice really depends on your needs and on what terrain you intend to walk the most. Small, foam and steering wheels will prove themselves in a city where there are plenty of hard, smooth sidewalks. It will also be much easier to maneuver such a trolley not only in residential but also in storey alleys Large pumped wheels are a good solution when you live outside the city, and the main area for walks is sandy, often uneven roads. Yes, they are heavier than foam ones, but they are much better to absorb the stroller. It will be easier for you to overcome small obstacles such as a curb or holes on a bumpy road. Good advice: It's worth asking the seller if the wheels can be removed. This is especially important when you have a car with a small luggage rack and every centimeter counts. In addition, it will make it easier for you to clean and maintain the wheels, so that you can use them longer. 7.BRAKES They must be reliable. When shopping, take a good look at them and check if they work. Depending on the model, they can be located at the handle or wheels. According to the European standard, the brakes should be on both sides of the trolleys with the hand-held handle. Good advice: You can check the brakes very easily. On a slightly sloping ground, the truck should not move when the brakes are applied. 8.RACK All joints and binders should look solid and work under the weight of the gondola. The lightest is the aluminum frame, but it can be less durable. It is very important that the folding / unfolding system is as simple and fast as possible. However, you can not forget about the safety of your child. Please note that the locks protecting the trolley against sudden assembly work without any problems, so that in the future the curious toddler does not cut his fingers. 9.SHOPPING BASKET It is worth paying attention to what size it is, how it is accessible to it and whether it is made of durable material. Check if you can easily put in and take out the shopping, as well as toys, blankets and other small items. From my own experience I know that the bigger, the better;) When I came back from a walk with my son, I could do some shopping without having to carry heavy nets. This is really a great convenience for every young mother. Good advice: The shopping basket should be removable so that you can wash it once in a while. If it is permanently mounted it will be very difficult to keep it clean. 10.ADDITIONAL ACCESSORIES In stores you can find various types of trolley accessories that you can, but you do not need to buy. It happens that some manufacturers add them in the standard, but unfortunately it is often associated with a higher price of the pram. Worth noting are: Umbrella - protects the toddler from the sun's rays. Sleeping bag for the gondola - will work in cooler autumn-winter days. Mosquito net - essential during the summer. It will protect the child from biting insects. Raincoat - it will come in handy when you have to go out with your child when it is raining or snowing. IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES DURING USING THE TROLLEY
